LONG JUMP SPOTTER/MEASURE - GENERAL WHEN: Friday, June 9, 2017 8:00 AM TO Saturday, June 10, 2017 1:00 PM

DESCRIPTION: This Volunteer will be responsible for spotting and measuring athlete attempts in the Long Jump event.

ATHLETICS- REGISTRATION/INFORMATION TABLE - GENERAL WHEN: Saturday, June 10, 2017 7:00 AM TO 5:00 PM

DESCRIPTION: Volunteers in this role will register and direct volunteers to their positions for the day. The will occupy the registration/information table during the track meet, and serve as an information source for everyone at the event.

AQUATICS RECORDER - GENERAL WHEN: Saturday, June 10, 2017 8:00 AM TO 5:00 PM

DESCRIPTION: Work directly with timers to record accurate results/times of races on heat sheets.

AQUATICS TIMER - GENERAL WHEN: Saturday, June 10, 2017 8:00 AM TO 5:00 PM

DESCRIPTION: Using a stopwatch, time athletes in each race, and help to record correct times for each race.

AQUATICS- CHECK-IN/AWARDS - GENERAL WHEN: Saturday, June 10, 2017 8:00 AM TO 5:00 PM

DESCRIPTION: The volunteer in this role will help with volunteer/team check-in, distribution of lunches to coaches, and will help to prepare, organize, and present awards to Special Olympics athletes.

ATHLETICS AWARDS COORDINATOR - GENERAL WHEN: Saturday, June 10, 2017 8:00 AM TO 5:00 PM

DESCRIPTION: The Awards Coordinator is in charge of the flow, look, and feel of the awards ceremonies at the venue. They will ensure that awards process runs smoothly from beginning to end. This includes organizing awards, distributing awards, announcing awards, creating a memorable experience for athletes, and ensuring official results are returned to the Venue Binder. They will ensure that all signage, awards stations, award stands, etc, are all properly and functionally placed at the venue. The person that fills this position will be required to attend a meeting with the Venue Director, prior to the event. Reports to the Venue Director.

DESCRIPTION: This volunteer will stage and prepare athletes for the awards ceremonies.

ATHLETICS FINISH LINE RESULTS RECORDER - GENERAL WHEN: Saturday, June 10, 2017 8:00 AM TO 5:00 PM

DESCRIPTION: This volunteer works directly with race timers to record accurate results/times on heat sheets.

ATHLETICS- AWARDS STAGING COORDINATOR - GENERAL WHEN: Saturday, June 10, 2017 8:00 AM TO 5:00 PM

DESCRIPTION: The Awards Staging Coordinator will manage the staging of athletes for awards after they finish each race. They will organize athletes into groups according to heat in order to ensuring a continuous flow of awards throughout the competition. They must be able to organize and instruct other staging volunteers to prepare athletes for awards. Reports to the Venue Director.

ATHLETICS- FINISH LINE ESCORT - GENERAL WHEN: Saturday, June 10, 2017 8:00 AM TO 5:00 PM

DESCRIPTION: The volunteer in this position will escort groups of athletes from the finish line to the awards staging area.

ATHLETICS- SHOT PUT RECORDER/SPOTTER - GENERAL WHEN: Saturday, June 10, 2017 8:00 AM TO 1:00 PM

DESCRIPTION: This volunteer will help to set up and run the Shot Put event. They will help to spot, measure, and record results.

ATHLETICS- SOFTBALL THROW RECORDER/SPOTTER - GENERAL WHEN: Saturday, June 10, 2017 8:00 AM TO 1:00 PM

DESCRIPTION: This volunteer will help to set up and run the Softball throw event. They will help to spot, measure, and record results.

ATHLETICS- STAGING ESCORT - GENERAL WHEN: Saturday, June 10, 2017 8:00 AM TO 5:00 AM

DESCRIPTION: This volunteer will be an escort for track and or field heats throughout the competition. This role includes staging the heat, which means finding and gathering the competitors in the upcoming heat. When time, getting competitors to the start line, then observing the competitors to verify with the finish line volunteers the order in which the competitors finished. Then escorting all the competitors completely through the awards process. Once finished with a heat , return to staging area to be assigned a new group of competitors.

ATHLETICS- TENNIS BALL THROW RECORDER/SPOTTER - GENERAL WHEN: Saturday, June 10, 2017 8:00 AM TO 1:00 PM

DESCRIPTION: This volunteer will help to set up and run the Tennis Ball Throw event. They will help to spot, measure, and record results.

ATHLETICS- TIMER/RUNNER - GENERAL WHEN: Saturday, June 10, 2017 8:00 AM TO 5:00 PM

DESCRIPTION: The volunteer that fills this role will use a stopwatch to ensure that accurate times are recorded for each race. They may also help to escort athletes and run results to the awards staging area.

CYCLING- GENERAL ASSISTANCE - GENERAL WHEN: Saturday, June 10, 2017 8:00 AM TO 3:00 PM

DESCRIPTION: Volunteers in this role will assist as stagers timers, starter, and track monitors.

LONG JUMP RECORDER - GENERAL WHEN: Saturday, June 10, 2017 8:00 AM TO 1:00 PM

DESCRIPTION: This Volunteer will be responsible for recording athlete scores when they compete in the Long Jump event.

DESCRIPTION: This Volunteer will be responsible for staging athletes prior to competing in Softball Throw event.

DESCRIPTION: This Volunteer will be responsible for staging athletes before competing in the Tennis Ball Throw event.

DESCRIPTION: The volunteer in this role will help with volunteer and team check-in will be at the information table to answer any questions people may have. They will also help to count and distribute lunches to coaches and help to prepare, organize, and assist in presenting awards to Special Olympics athletes.

DESCRIPTION: This Volunteer will keep score for games and also keep track of fouls.

DESCRIPTION: This Volunteer will be checking-in and recording athlete weights as they arrive.

POWERLIFTING- SIDE JUDGE - GENERAL WHEN: Saturday, June 10, 2017 9:00 AM TO 1:00 PM

DESCRIPTION: The Side judge will watch the specifically assigned aspect of each lift to ensure consistency in application of the rules to each athlete; provides head judge any information necessary to determine whether lift was accomplished.
