Gold medals and Summer and Winter Games are only a small part of what Special Olympics Idaho offers to the 2500 athletes statewide.  Through our organization, those with intellectual disabilities gain courage and confidence, create invaluable friendships ad share incredible experiences with volunteers, coaches and family members.  Our athletes learn life-long lessons and become productive members of society.  Through our year-round programs and health education, Special Olympic Idaho athletes realize all that they can do.

But the impact of our movement is still affecting just a small percentage of people in Idaho with intellectual disabilities.   In order to grow our movement and mission, increase athlete numbers and make a life-changing impact  on those with special needs, Special Olympics Idaho has launched The Campaign for the Athlete Training Center:  a campaign to raise $400,000 for the construction and development of a state-of-art headquarters and training center.

The Athlete Training Center is Phase I of the overall vision.  The Athlete Training Center will enable us to enhance our efforts in reaching out to all those with intellectual disabilities in their pursuit of a lifetime of inclusion, acceptance and joy.

The Athlete Training Center will offer:
  • Weight and Cardio room
  • Locker room with showers
  • High-tech training rooms for coaches, volunteers, athletes and medical professionals
  • Space for public and private special events
  • Conference and meeting rooms
  • Expanded and efficient workspace and offices for professional staff
  • Hall of Fame Wall showcasing donors who support Special Olympics Idaho
  • Special area dedicated to family resources and athlete social room
  • Ample on-site storage space for equipment and supplies
  • Beautiful Tribute Brick Patio
