ABOUT THE ATHLETE TRAINING CENTER Gold medals and Summer and Winter Games are only a small part of what Special Olympics Idaho offers to the 2500 athletes statewide. Through our organization, those with intellectual disabilities gain courage and confidence, create invaluable friendships ad share incredible experiences with volunteers, coaches and family members. Our athletes learn life-long lessons and become productive members of society. Through our year-round programs and health education, Special Olympic Idaho athletes realize all that they can do. But the impact of our movement is still affecting just a small percentage of people in Idaho with intellectual disabilities. In order to grow our movement and mission, increase athlete numbers and make a life-changing impact on those with special needs, Special Olympics Idaho has launched The Campaign for the Athlete Training Center: a campaign to raise $400,000 for the construction and development of a state-of-art headquarters and training center. The Athlete Training Center is Phase I of the overall vision. The Athlete Training Center will enable us to enhance our efforts in reaching out to all those with intellectual disabilities in their pursuit of a lifetime of inclusion, acceptance and joy.
