While Special Olympics Idaho has worked to improve thousands of lives through year-round sports training, athletic competition and health education, the movement is still affecting just a small percentage of people in Idaho with intellectual disabilities.

The Campaign for the Athlete Training Center is much more than just a capital campaign for Special Olympics Idaho headquarters.  The Campaign for the Athlete Training Center reflects the Special Olympics mission and commitment to bettering the lives of those with intellectual disabilities in today’s society.  By bringing together people with and without intellectual disabilities at Special Olympics programs, longstanding myths are dispelled, negative attitudes changed, and new opportunities are created to embrace and celebrate the giftedness of people with intellectual disabilities.
